Decorating the Tree
This year I decided (with the help from Jim telling me I was going to) to relax and let things go, this means my lights and decorations on my tree. If you recall last year, it was Christmas Eve and I ran out of lights before finishing my tree and couldn't find anymore so I gave up and let me kids decorate a semi-lit tree. Jim reminded me of a conversation we had last year (one I still don't remember having so I think he made it up) that I would not go crazy with the lights because it stresses me out too much. I immediately started freaking out because I really don't know how to do the lights any other way. My sweet sister Kelly and my mom came over the next day and rescued me. Kelly put all the lights on my tree. It was so nice to not stress about it and not have it take me a week to get all the lights on the tree. Then the kids wanted to put the decorations on the tree. Another thing I usually stress about because when they help they don't get them spaced correctly, etc. This year, no stressing. I just pulled out the decorations, sat back and enjoyed watching them and occasionally gave them the boost they needed to reach the top of the tree.
