24th Fun

Okay, so I'm a little late (only a week) getting this posted, but I figured better late than never, right? This year Andrew convinced me that we just HAD to go to the parade. I talked him out of the 4th of July parade by promising we would go to the parade in Spanish Fork on the 24th. So, the kids and I got up and dressed (left Jim in bed) and headed to Main Street to wait for the parade to start. They really enjoyed the parade (Andrew's favorite was the 'army tank' and Ally's was seeing all the 'princesses' especially her Nursery teacher Ashley who is Miss Spanish Fork). I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Something about seeing things through the eyes of a child. After the parade, we went over the carnival. The kids REALLY enjoyed the rides even though I was a mean mom and would only buy them ten tickets. They were especially happy to have our friends, the Simonsens' to be with on the rides.

After lunch and a snow cone, we went home. By the time we got home we were all hot and tired, okay maybe Mom was more hot and tired than the kids, but I convinced them to rest a little so I could too. We then went to my mom and dad's house for a neighborhood b-b-q and fireworks. It was a very fun day and I think we'll have to make the parade and carnival an annual tradition.

In Search of Ideas

After 6 years (minus 6 months) I am leaving the ranks of 'working mom' and joining the ranks of 'stay-at-home mom'. The kids and I are really excited for this change in our lives, but, I have to admit that as excited I am, I am a little nervous too. The main thing I am nervous about is coming up with enough activities to keep Ally busy so she doesn't sit in front of the tv all day, which she would be more than willing to do. I am looking for ideas, if anyone has some fun (not too expensive) activities I can do with Ally while Andrew is at school, I would love to hear them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A Little Game

I saw this on one of my friend's blogs and decided it might be fun to do...

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see what memories people leave about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

A Great Website

My super cute trainer has started a website http://www.lizrosenbaumfitness.com/blog/. It's a great site with tips on how and what to eat, how to exercise and for me, great motivation. Liz has a great attitude on health and makes it fun to learn new things. And, just so you know, the spinach and vegetables smoothies are super yummy. I really didn't think I would like them, but with the strawberry spinach smoothy, I really don't even know there is spinach in it. Plus, I love that I get some veggies first thing in the morning. I am like a child and even though I like most veggies, some are harder for me to eat. If I can have them 'hidden' in other foods, it's much easier for me to eat them. If you get a chance, go check out her website. I think you too will really enjoy it. I find myself checking it every day even though I am working out with her twice a week.

New Baby

My sister Kelly had her baby. Phinneus Jacob Scott was born last Thursday. He was 8 lbs. 13 oz. and 20 inches long. Welcome to my world of big babies Kel!

Grandma Davis and all her grandkids. My kids were so excited for the new baby. Andrew is happy to have a boy cousin on this side of the family. He can't wait for Phin to be old enough to actually play.

4th of July

This year we were among the 'lucky' ones and got to go to the Stadium of Fire. MonaVie (Jim's company) was the sponsor so we got matching t-shirts (designed by Jim and his team). We got to have dinner at the Harmon Building pavillion before the show, got good parking (right outside the stadium) and got loge (box) seats. Ally was so excited to see Hannah Montana, even though she really doesn't know who she is other than seeing her on t-shirts, merchandise, etc. We enjoyed the good food and company of good friends, it's fun having the majority of the old NuSkin team working with Jim again at MonaVie. The kids enjoyed attacking people....

Thanks for being the jungle gym, Ryan.

The kids even enjoyed the Stadium of Fire.

Andrew's favorite was the Blue Man Group. Ally enjoyed singing along with Miley Cyrus (coming up with her own words). She even had her 'microwave' (microphone) - her hand in a fist. We just laughed at her walking around singing and dancing. And, the best part of it all, the fireworks. Ally even enjoyed them and didn't scream the entire time like she did the year before.

It was a very nice night. Thanks to MonaVie for the enjoyable time. I am grateful we have the freedoms we have to enjoy such a celebration. I am so grateful for those who have fought and continue to fight so we can live in this wonderful country. We are so blessed.

Our Beeeuuuutiful Princess

Our daycare had a 'princess/super hero day' the other day. Ally was all excited to wear her princess dress. Andrew put on his Superman shirt and some shorts and that was all he was doing. After daycare, playing at the pool and Andrew's baseball game, she wanted her dress back on, but not only her dress, but her shoes, purse, sunglasses, etc. She was all decked out. After she was all ready, she looked at me and Jim and said, "I am beeeuuuutiful." For those of you who don't know Ally, she has a little bit of an accent (I'm not quite sure where she picked it up, but she almost sounds Texan. You'd think she'd spent a lot of time with her Aunt Tricia.) Jim and I sat and laughed. She is beautiful and has the best personality too. She makes our lives better each and every day. (Even when she is testing the limits).

Finally Being Nice to my Husband

For those of you who know Jim, you know he wasn't too thrilled with my choice of a pink background, especially one with flowers on it. So, I finally decided to be nice and change our background. I'm sure it's still not 'manly' enough for him, but at least it is no longer pink.
