Christmas Cookies at Grandma's

A few years ago my mom started the tradition of having all the grandkids come to her house to make Christmas cookies and then she gives each of them a new pair of pajamas. This year she decided to invite all of us to dinner first and then have the kids decorate their cookies. She also had a surprise visitor, Santa Claus. We all went downstairs and waited for the big guy to come over. The kids had no idea. Vanessa went to go upstairs just as Santa was coming down. She took one look at him and started screaming.

She was so upset and scared she was shaking. Ally ran crying into my dad's office room. Who knew she would be so afraid of him. She wanted nothing to do with him and sat crying on my lap the entire time.

Jim tried to get Vanessa to sit on Santa's lap but she wouldn't stop crying or shaking. It was really sad to watch.

Andrew enjoyed getting to sit on his lap and asking him for Legos, no surprise there.

After singing Jingle Bells with Santa, the kids got their new pajamas and even got a coloring/activity book in their bag.

They then went upstairs to decorate

and eat their cookies.

It was such a fun night. I'm glad my mom decided to include us this year in her tradition.
