My friend Stacie asked me if Ally would like to join her girls for a 'Princess Party' last Saturday. Apparently Spanish Fork High School was putting it on as some type of fundraiser. Of course Ally was super excited and quickly got dressed as Sleeping Beauty. Since Chris (Stacie's husband) was already at our house playing Guitar Hero with Jim we left the boys behind with them and took the girls down to the party. Oh my word!! I have never seen so many little princesses in my life! The party was for girls aged 3-12 and was supposed to go from noon to three with lunch and activities for the girls. The flier said they'd get to meet the princesses. After standing in line for a while a girl came out and told us they were full and to try back in one hour. We decided to hang out and see if it would go quicker. One of my friends from kickboxing came out and told us that her girls barely got in and they were now out of food and quickly running out of supplies for the projects. They didn't have any of the Disney princesses there, just high school girls in their prom dresses (which is still kind of neat for a little girl). We decided to load up and head to their favorite place...McDonald's. It wasn't as exciting as the princess party but the girls still had a lot of fun eating and playing in their dresses. And, there were 15-20 other princesses there too.

One of the Many Things I Will Never Understand About Children
Why is it that a child can have a ton (and when I say ton, I mean about 20) coloring books and still feel a need to use walls, doors, etc. as a canvas for their masterpieces?? Maybe it's just my misbehaved child. The other day Ally decided to create her beautiful artwork on her closet door.
This wasn't her first masterpiece on a wall, dishwasher, computer desk, etc. so I decided the best course of action would be for her to clean it off by herself.

After a while of cleaning and complaining of how hard it was for her to clean, I sat with her and explained that it is hard for Mom to clean too and that is one of the reasons she should not be coloring on anything other than paper. Hopefully, this will be her last masterpiece (on my walls at least).
