Poor Dixie had to go in for surgery on her ear again because the hematoma filled back up. I took her to the vet yesterday. He was going to try and just drain it but decided it was going to be too painful so they ended up putting her under. It was just a couple hours surgery and we got to bring her back home yesterday. But, as you can see, the poor dog has to have the cone back on. We are all trying to adjust to her having it on again. This time the vet wants to wait three weeks before taking the stitches out and she has to wear the cone as long as she has the stitches. I feel so bad for the poor dog who just doesn't understand why we keep doing this to her. I really, really hope this is the last time. It's just too heartbreaking for me to see her like this especially when she looks at me with sad eyes like she did yesterday when I had to put the cone back on her. She is just too sweet and doesn't deserve this.

That is so sad Candace!!!! :( I know what you mean when your dog gives you those sad puppy dog eyes. Bear did that just the other day when it was pouring outside. We don't have a dog house for him yet and I had to go run a bunch of errands. When I tried to send him outside, he looked at me like, "Are you kidding me?" So instead, he came in the car with me while I ran to the hospital to get blood work done, to Good Earth to buy Vitamins and to the bank to make a deposit! LOL! Those puppy dog eyes sure make us humans get emotional don't they? Poor Dixie... i hope she gets that cone off of her really soon!
