24th Fun

Okay, so I'm a little late (only a week) getting this posted, but I figured better late than never, right? This year Andrew convinced me that we just HAD to go to the parade. I talked him out of the 4th of July parade by promising we would go to the parade in Spanish Fork on the 24th. So, the kids and I got up and dressed (left Jim in bed) and headed to Main Street to wait for the parade to start. They really enjoyed the parade (Andrew's favorite was the 'army tank' and Ally's was seeing all the 'princesses' especially her Nursery teacher Ashley who is Miss Spanish Fork). I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Something about seeing things through the eyes of a child. After the parade, we went over the carnival. The kids REALLY enjoyed the rides even though I was a mean mom and would only buy them ten tickets. They were especially happy to have our friends, the Simonsens' to be with on the rides.

After lunch and a snow cone, we went home. By the time we got home we were all hot and tired, okay maybe Mom was more hot and tired than the kids, but I convinced them to rest a little so I could too. We then went to my mom and dad's house for a neighborhood b-b-q and fireworks. It was a very fun day and I think we'll have to make the parade and carnival an annual tradition.

YAHOO!!! What a fun time :) Your kiddos are getting so big! They are darling! So... I stayed up all night to watch the SF Parade and at 730am I ran home to "freshin up" and fell asleep. I woke up at 3pm to my friend pounding on my door. Yep... I missed the whole dang thing. I'm too old to pull all nighters these days :( Anyway... I would have seen you there, but I was fast asleep. Glad you had such a good time! Luv ya!
