New York Take Two (I just realized I never did this post)

I was putting off sleep one night looking at old blog posts when I realized that I never blogged about our trip to New York Memorial Day weekend. Wow! How that got past me, I'm not quite sure. Since this is my journal/scrapbook of sorts I decided to blog about it late rather than never. This time we went with our friends Chris and Stacie Lewis. Stacie had never been to New York and Chris had been there once, many years ago. We had a great trip filled with many fun activities and once again, yummy food!

We got there late at night and after dropping our bags off at the hotel we were off to Empire Pizza. Once again it didn't disappoint. Since it was late we went back to the hotel and crashed for the night. The next day we slept in for a bit and then were off for a day of adventure.

Stacie and I ready to get the day started

We spent the day at Grand Central Station,

(Jim's teaching Stacie how to read the subway map, doesn't she seem so intent on learning?!?!)

Battery Park (we chose to not ride the ferry to the Statue of Liberty this trip)

Ground Zero,

I love how patriotic the site still is with American flags everywhere, even on the cranes and other equipment.

Katz's Deli,

shopping and that night we went and saw the broadway play Next to Normal,

and hung out in Times Square.

The next day we got up and headed to Yankee stadium for a baseball game.

We were extremely lucky to get to sit up in a suite with our friends' the Freedmans.

It's really amazing watching a game up in a suite and the new stadium is great.

We even got to go into the conference room where George Steinbrenner held meetings.

We had so much fun!

That night we had dinner at a yummy pizza place (no, not Empire) and then went for even yummier dessert. The next morning we got up, had breakfast and went to Times Square for some more shopping. We then went to see the temple

It's amazing how it's just right there looking like the majority of the buildings but you can still feel the Spirit of the building. We walked around Central Park for a bit and then were off to the airport heading home. It was another fabulous trip to a city I love to visit!!!

That was fun to re-live it! Can't believe how fast time is going by.
